Our Family

Chelsea and I met when we were 8 years old, no joking. We started seriously dating in high school and have been together (off and on) ever since. We married in 2001, 2 weeks before 9/11/01. In January of 2002 my Marine Corps unit was activated in support of Operation Noble Eagle. I was sent to Camp Pendleton in sunny southern California. Chelsea and I spent the next year visiting each other in Las Vegas and on occasion she would come to CA and I would return to UT. I spent our first anniversary on a pay phone, while we both ate from our wedding cake. I was deactivated returned home in December of 2002. Two days after Christmas I was given orders to report back to CA, with tensions rising between the US and Iraq. In February of 2003 I went to Kuwait and then into Iraq. Chelsea was awesome about the whole thing. I returned May 28th. Our tour was short, due to the year spent in CA; our commanding General had told us he would send us home following the fall of Baghdad.
I returned home to a grateful nation, while it was still popular for the media to report positively about the situation in Iraq. Now after numerous hours infront of CNN, most people are Iraqi experts and have their media fed opinions about the situation there. But thats a whole other post. I returned home and starting working as a dental office manager, taking over the position for my mother. Chelsea has worked at the Red Cross for the past 8, 9, 10 years, I don't know...forever.
We built our home in 2005 up in Suncrest, Draper, and have been loving living up there. We know, way up there for the rest of you, but 7 minutes from the freeway for us. And a world away! Winters are a completely different animal up there, people in the valley whine about driving in a few inches of snow. Last year I had 10 foot piles of snow on either side of my driveway. Think I am joking, come on up in January. Honestly though, there is nothing like sitting in my hottub on a winter night and looking at the snowy white mountains illuminated by the moon.
We had our first child, on May 9th, 2007, we named him Mason. Mason has been the absolute light of our lives since he joined our family. He is one of the cutest kids you have ever seen, and his personality matches his looks perfectly.
Overall life has been pretty good to Chelsea and I, but we have had to work hard at it. So it is, more to follow...
